Tammy sighed. "I'm so sorry," she said, turning around to face Millie. She'd forgotten that technically she was eavesdropping. "But it sounded like he had a good long life," she added, giving Millie a tentative smile.

"At least he had a good life, not like the horse's that die at slaughter houses or of cruelty," Stephanie said quietly to them.

Tammy gave Stephanie a brave smile. She knew she was thinking about Belle and Prince and all the other horses at the Rescue Centre. She looked over at Millie and then looked back down at her book as tears started to prick her eyes. She willed them away and smiled again at Stephanie. At least the horses at the Rescue Centre had been saved from awful deaths.

Tammy looked up as the teacher stood at the front of the class. "Okay, class, here comez the quiz," the teacher said, handing out sheets of paper to everyone. Tammy supressed a groan as she got hers. Her eyes flicked over the first page and Tammy was happy to realise she actually knew a few questions.
"Silence until the quiz is finished," the teacher said. "Close your textbooks and begin."

Stephanie hurriedly shut her textbook and looked over her quiz. She knew almost all of the answers, but some of them, she had no idea what they were, and she's been around horses since she was a little kid! There were around twenty-seven questions in the test.

Page after page millie filled in the questitions. She was way ahead of time. She could do this test with her eyes shut but she knew she had to read and check the questions carefully.

Tammy wrote down a few answers and then felt her mind begin to wander. She chewed on the inside of her cheek, trying to force herself to concentrate. She flicked over to the next page and read the question at the top of the paper; The highest point on the horse's rump is called the: A: Hindquarter B: Buttocks C: Croup D: Loin
Tammy racked her memory. She knew it wasn't A or B, but for the life of her she couldn't remember whether it was the croup or the loin. She sighed and began to trace her pencil back and forth between the two answers. "Eenie, meenie, minie, mo!" she whispered to herself, settling on C.

Stephanie shook her head, trying to finish her test. She was having some trouble on how many bones were in a horse's leg.
A: 125 B: 80 C: 98 D:73
Stephanie bit her lip, trying to think of where she'd read this before. She frowned and looked at the front of the classroom, trying to turn the blackboard into a picture of a horse's skeleton. She closed her eyes and formed a mental picture if the bones in the leg. Stephanie sighed and opened her eyes, circling B.
